A bathroom modernisation project in Flushing transformed an outdated storage heater system into an efficient smart heating solution, combining contemporary design with practical functionality.
The evolution of home heating technology has made remarkable strides in recent years, moving away from traditional storage heaters towards more sophisticated solutions that offer greater control and efficiency. This transformation was perfectly illustrated in a recent bathroom renovation project in Flushing, where we replaced an aging storage heater with a modern Rointe smart towel rail.
The existing setup featured a conventional storage heater, which, while functional, had several limitations. These older units typically heat up during off-peak hours and gradually release warmth throughout the day, offering limited control over timing and temperature. The system’s bulky nature also occupied valuable bathroom space, and its dated appearance didn’t align with the room’s aesthetic.
Our solution involved installing a sophisticated 450W Rointe smart towel rail, bringing both form and function to the bathroom space. This contemporary heating solution represents a significant advancement in bathroom comfort and efficiency. The sleek, white design complements modern bathroom aesthetics while providing practical benefits that extend beyond simple heating.
The installation process required careful consideration of the existing electrical infrastructure. We completely restructured the heating circuit, moving away from the traditional storage heater setup to a more versatile system. By rerouting the electrical supply directly from the main consumer unit, we created a more flexible heating solution that can operate at any time of day, rather than being restricted to off-peak hours.
The smart features of the Rointe towel rail offer unprecedented control over bathroom heating. Users can now adjust temperatures precisely, set heating schedules, and monitor energy usage through their smartphone. This level of control helps optimise energy consumption while maintaining comfortable temperatures exactly when needed.
The project also included the careful removal and environmentally responsible disposal of the original storage heater, including its internal storage bricks. This aspect of the work demanded particular attention to detail and adherence to proper disposal protocols, reflecting our commitment to environmental responsibility.
