We recently completed an electric vehicle charging installation for a customer in Fowey, making home charging a reality for another Cornwall resident.

Our team got stuck in, setting up a 7.4kW MyEnergi Zappi tethered EV charge point on a post at the driveway’s end. We started by digging a 300mm trench across the front garden for the cables, carefully cutting through the concrete path to the front door. After laying the cables, we patched everything up nicely, leaving hardly a trace.

We poured a solid 400mm cube concrete base for the charging post, ensuring it’ll stand firm against Fowey’s coastal weather. The cabling was then neatly tucked away through the porch’s floor void, keeping the look clean and tidy.

Back at the consumer unit, we fitted a 40A RCBO circuit breaker for proper electrical protection. As always, we ran thorough tests after installation, producing the necessary Electrical Installation Certificate and submitting the Building Control Notification.

The result? A smart, efficient home charging setup that fits right in with the property’s look. Our customer can now charge their EV at home, backed by a fully certified installation.
