Commercial 3-Phase Power Upgrade for Industrial Fan System in Truro

When industrial equipment demands substantial power requirements, having the right electrical infrastructure becomes crucial for both safety and efficiency. This commercial project in Truro showcased our expertise in 3-phase electrical installations and comprehensive electrical maintenance services.

The primary focus of this project centred on upgrading an existing electrical circuit to accommodate a substantial 30kW fan heater unit. This involved a significant enhancement from a 16-amp circuit to a robust 63-amp 3-phase system, ensuring adequate power delivery for the industrial-grade heating equipment.

Working methodically through the installation process, we replaced the existing commando unit with a new 3-phase 63-amp commando socket, complete with a rotary isolator for enhanced safety and control. This installation provided the necessary power capacity while maintaining compliance with current electrical regulations.

Understanding the importance of flexibility in industrial settings, we fabricated a custom 63-amp commando extension lead specifically designed for use with the heater unit. This practical addition allows for optimal positioning of the heating equipment while maintaining safe electrical connections.

During our time on site, we identified and addressed several additional electrical requirements. This included replacing two double socket outlet faceplates and investigating a persistent stairwell lighting issue. The fault was traced to a problematic recessed PIR sensor, which we replaced to resolve the circuit-tripping issues that had been causing disruption.

The scope of works also encompassed the replacement of a high-level commercial emergency lighting unit, ensuring the building’s safety systems remained fully functional and compliant with current regulations. Following the completion of all electrical modifications, we conducted comprehensive electrical testing and provided full certification documentation.
