Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrical Technician to join our team in Newquay. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems for both residential and commercial properties. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team, contribute to the growth of the company, and deliver exceptional service to our valued customers throughout Cornwall County. Our services encompass a wide range of electrical solutions, including (but not limited to) installation and maintenance of EV Charging systems, Solar PV and Battery Storage systems, Domestic and Commercial Rewires, Smart Home Installations and Electrical Testing.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in accordance with local and national electrical codes and regulations.
  • Perform inspections, testing, and fault finding of electrical systems to identify faults and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and execute electrical projects, including new installations, upgrades, and renovations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring satisfaction with completed work.
  • Keep accurate records of work completed, time spent on task, and any additional notes or recommendations via our in-house job management software.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of electrical services.
  • Participate in the out of hour’s emergency service rota.
  • To ensure any tools, equipment and vehicles are used and maintained in a safe manner and that any defects are reported to your supervisor immediately.

Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair, in both residential and commercial settings.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation and BS7671 18th Edition qualification.
    A flexible approach and good communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence with less than 3 points.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality workmanship and exceeding customer expectations.
    Ability to work independently or as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility, reliability, and a positive attitude.

Desirable

  • City and Guilds 2391 qualification
  • ECS / JIB Gold Electrician Grade Card
  • IPAF qualification
  • Fire alarm and emergency lighting qualifications
  • Experience in EV charging systems
  • Experience in solar PV and battery storage systems
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Experience in installing fire detection systems
  • Good working knowledge of health and safety
