5 Bed Rewire - Camelford
After being recommended to Tim and Clare, we were approached by them and asked to provide a quote for a rewire of their 400 year old large 5 double bedroom property.
We conducted a walk through of the property with the clients and asked them to envision how each room would be used. For us, this is a vital step in working out exactly where each socket needs to be; where and what type of lighting is required and what type of heating system they plan to have installed and how they would like to control it. As always, we through a few ideas towards them and showed them examples of particular features we had carried out on other, similar projects. For example, in this instance we caught wind of a large bookcase that was to be installed in the entrance hall – so we were able to show Tim and Clare a similar bookcase where we had installed some recessed LED lighting into it, to really make it a feature!
Due to the granite stone construction, the multiple floor levels and a spiral staircase that ran through the middle of the property, this project was no easy task. However, with our knowledge and experience, we were able to get the work carried out to a high standard. For the most part the property is wired in a conventional way, but where 3 light lighting control was required around the various exits of the spiralling staircase we were able to use our vast product knowledge and went on to install wireless ‘Quinetic’ switches, there also the user to switch lights on and off using what appears to be a normal light switch, but in actual fact have no wires (or even batteries) powering it – Magic!
Although challenging, this project was most enjoyable.
