7.4kW MyEnergi Zappi EV Charge Point in Truro

Installation of a high-capacity electric vehicle charging station, tailored to meet the specific needs of the property and its owners.

This project involves the installation of a high-capacity electric vehicle charging station, tailored to meet the specific needs of the property and its owners. Here’s an overview of the work being undertaken:

Day 1: Groundwork and Preparation The team began by identifying the ideal location for the charging station, considering both convenience and aesthetics. They then excavated an area to create a solid foundation for the charging unit. A concrete pad was poured to ensure the stability and longevity of the installation.

Whilst the concrete set, the team turned their attention to the cable route. They carefully dug a trench along the perimeter of the driveway, designed to house the armoured cable that would power the charging station. This approach ensures the cable is protected from the elements and any potential damage from vehicles or equipment.

Day 2: Electrical Work and Final Installation Once the concrete pad had cured, the team returned to complete the installation. They securely mounted the 7.4kW MyEnergi Zappi charging unit to a sturdy post, which was then firmly anchored to the concrete base.

The electrical supply for the charger was carefully integrated into the property’s existing system. A spare slot in the consumer unit was utilised to install a circuit breaker, providing essential electrical protection for both the charging point and its users.

The armoured cable was then expertly laid in the prepared trench, running approximately 35 metres from the house to the charging point.

A key feature of this installation is the tethered charging cable. This means the cable is permanently attached to the charging unit, offering convenience and eliminating the need to store or transport a separate cable.

This project represents a significant upgrade to the property, providing a reliable, safe, and convenient way to charge electric vehicles at home. The careful planning and execution ensure that the charging station blends seamlessly with the existing landscape while offering cutting-edge functionality.
