In Helston, we carried out the second fix electrical work for a newly created en-suite shower room. This stage is all about connecting the fixtures and accessories that bring the space to life. We installed recessed downlights, a heated towel rail, and an illuminated, heated mirror. A key part of the project was fitting a powerful loft-mounted extractor fan system to ensure proper ventilation, completing the transformation from a building site into a functional, modern bathroom.
The second fix is the stage where a bathroom renovation truly comes together, transforming a tiled shell into a finished, usable space. Following the initial wiring installation in a Helston property, we returned to complete the second fix for a new en-suite. This involves the final connection of all electrical points, appliances, and accessories.
Our first task was to install the lighting. We fitted two recessed downlights into the ceiling, connecting them to the wiring that had been put in place earlier. These fixtures provide a clean, modern look while offering excellent light coverage for the shower room.
Proper ventilation is vital in any bathroom to manage moisture and prevent dampness. For this en-suite, we installed a five-inch inline extractor fan in the loft space directly above. This type of system is quiet and efficient because the main fan unit is located away from the room itself. We ran the necessary insulated ducting from the fan unit to an external vent and connected it to a discreet inlet grille inside the shower room’s ceiling. A fan isolator switch was also fitted within the room, providing a safe and accessible way to disconnect the power for any future maintenance.
We then moved on to the room’s comfort and convenience features. A dedicated supply was used to connect a stylish heated towel rail, a practical addition for any modern bathroom. We also connected the supply for a dual-function LED and heated mirror. The integrated lighting provides great task illumination, while the demister pad, powered by the heating element, keeps the glass clear even in a steamy environment. These final connections were made carefully to ensure a seamless finish with no visible cables.
The work also included completing the installation of two double socket outlets in the adjacent bedrooms, providing useful extra power points for the homeowners. As a final item, we replaced the old extractor fan in the main family bathroom with a new unit that the client had purchased, bringing that room’s ventilation system up to date.
