We've just finished a brilliant job in St Austell, setting up a smart EV charging system that's got our client all geared up for greener drives.
Our latest project in St Austell had us installing a cutting-edge 7.4kW tethered MyEnergi Zappi unit. We chose a sleek white and grey design that looks right at home on the exterior wall of the garage, lining up nicely with the light fitting above. It’s not just about looks though – this setup is all about convenience and efficiency.
We’ve linked the charger to the existing RCBO Consumer Unit, keeping things neat and tidy with surface-clipped cabling inside the garage. But here’s where it gets really clever: we’ve added extra Current Transformers to keep tabs on battery and solar PV charging. This means our client can monitor everything through the MyEnergi app, giving them full control over their energy use.
Of course, we didn’t stop there. Once everything was in place, we put the system through its paces with thorough electrical testing. This isn’t just about ticking boxes – it’s about making sure everything’s safe and up to scratch. We’ve produced an Electrical Installation Certificate and sorted out the Building Control Notification of Electrical Works. It’s all part of the service, making sure our clients can enjoy their new setup without any worries.
The tethered design of the Zappi unit is a real winner. With the charging cable fixed and ready to go, there’s no faffing about with separate cables. It’s all about making life easier for our client, while helping them embrace a more sustainable lifestyle!
