This project involved a complete electrical overhaul of a residential property, updating all circuits to meet modern standards and improve functionality throughout the home.
Our team successfully completed a comprehensive rewiring of an entire residential property, modernising the electrical system to meet current safety standards and enhance the home’s functionality. The project encompassed every room, from the living spaces to the bedrooms, ensuring a consistent and up-to-date electrical infrastructure throughout.
We installed a new 14-way RCBO Fire-Rated consumer unit, compliant with the 18th edition of the wiring regulations, to provide safe and efficient power distribution. This modern unit offers improved protection and flexibility for the property’s electrical needs.
Throughout the house, we installed new socket outlets, ensuring ample power access in each room. Lighting installations were carefully planned, with a mix of centre pendants controlled by one-way and two-way switches for convenience. In areas like the dining room and hallway, we implemented two-way switching for added functionality.
Special attention was given to the kitchen, where we installed dedicated circuits for major appliances, including a 32A cooker/hob supply with a counter-top isolator switch. Multiple counter-top sockets and fixed appliance outlets with isolation switches were added to meet the diverse needs of a modern kitchen.
In the bathroom, we installed a new light fixture and a wall-mounted extractor fan with a timed overrun feature, improving ventilation and comfort. The boiler in the snug/TV room was also provided with a dedicated supply.
To minimise disruption, we used a dustless chasing system for concealing cables within masonry walls, followed by careful filling with bonding coat plaster. This attention to detail ensured a clean and professional finish, ready for final decorating.
Upon completion, we conducted thorough electrical testing of all installed circuits. This rigorous process allowed us to produce an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) and submit the necessary Building Control notification, ensuring full compliance with current regulations.
The result is a fully modernised electrical system that not only meets all safety standards but also provides the homeowners with improved functionality, convenience, and peace of mind for years to come.
