Industrial Power Installation – Truro Manufacturing Unit

Working with manufacturing facilities requires precise electrical planning and implementation to ensure seamless integration of new power systems within existing infrastructure. Our team recently undertook a specialist installation at an industrial unit in Truro, focusing on expanding their power capabilities to support their cutting room operations.

The project centred on installing a dual 16-amp commando socket outlet, which required careful consideration of the power requirements and existing electrical setup. We began by thoroughly assessing the current consumer unit to determine the optimal integration point for the new 32-amp circuit. This evaluation was crucial to maintain the balance of power distribution throughout the facility while ensuring sufficient capacity for the new installation.

We selected 6mm cabling for the installation, which provides the necessary capacity to handle the power requirements of the new outlet safely and efficiently. The positioning of the dual commando socket adjacent to the consumer unit was strategically chosen to minimise cable runs while maintaining easy access for maintenance and operation.

Safety and compliance were paramount throughout the installation process. We conducted comprehensive electrical testing of all circuits within the property, not just our new installation. This thorough approach allowed us to verify the integrity of the entire electrical system and ensure all components were functioning correctly and safely. The testing process culminated in the production of an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC), providing our client with formal documentation of the installation’s compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
