Position Overview

We are seeking experienced self-employed electrical subcontractors to work with us on various projects throughout Cornwall. This opportunity suits qualified electricians who prefer the flexibility of self-employment whilst working alongside an established company that values quality and professionalism. You will work on both residential and commercial electrical installations, carrying out work to the highest standards whilst representing Wave Electrical Solutions to our clients. Our services encompass a wide range of electrical solutions, including installation and maintenance of EV Charging systems, Solar PV and Battery Storage systems, Domestic and Commercial Rewires, Smart Home Installations and Electrical Testing.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in accordance with local and national electrical codes and regulations.
  • Perform inspections, testing, and fault finding of electrical systems to identify issues and maintain compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other team members when required to complete electrical projects, including new installations, upgrades, and renovations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries professionally and maintaining the positive reputation of Wave Electrical Solutions.
  • Keep accurate records of work completed, time spent on tasks, and any additional notes or recommendations via our in-house job management software.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulations to deliver the best possible service.
  • Participate in the out of hours emergency service rota where applicable.

Requirements

Essential

  • ECS Gold Card (or equivalent recognised qualification)
  • BS7671 18th Edition certification
  • C&G 2391 or C&G 2394/2395 inspection and testing qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in both residential and commercial electrical installations
  • Strong customer service abilities and interpersonal skills with a polite, customer-facing demeanour
  • Own reliable, clean, and un-signwritten van suitable for carrying tools and equipment
  • Own power tools and necessary equipment
  • Full UK driving licence with fewer than 3 points
  • Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with others when required

Desirable

  • Asbestos Awareness training
  • IPAF qualification
  • Experience with EV charging systems
  • Experience with solar PV and battery storage installations
  • Familiarity with fire detection and emergency lighting systems
  • Computer literacy for job management software and digital communication
